Mussa Sylvester
Mussa Ndile Sylvester, MD, is the clinical advisor/program officer for ICAP Tanzania in the Kigoma Regional Office. In this role, he works to ensure quality HIV/AIDS services at ICAP-supported clinics in the region. He also supports program planning and implementation at the sites.
Before joining ICAP, Dr. Sylvester worked as an HIV physician at Sumve Designated District Hospital in Mwanza. He supported prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV services at the Reproductive and Child Health Services and Maternity Wards and also served as a medical officer in charge of the hospital. In addition, Dr. Sylvester worked as the doctor in charge of the obstetrics and gynecology department at the regional hospital in Songea. He also was a resident medical officer at Aga Khan Hospital in Dar es Salaam.
Dr. Sylvester has completed a number of training programs, including focused antenatal care, antiretroviral therapy services (administered by the National AIDS Control Program), United States Government funds compliance, and the South-to-South Program in Comprehensive Pediatric HIV/AIDS Management.
