Itrosi Sanga
Itrosi Sanga, MD, is a program officer working for ICAP Tanzania-Kagera, where provides technical support, supervision and mentoring of staff to plan and implement HIV/AIDS care and treatment services.
Before joining ICAP, Dr. Sanga worked as a zonal Infectious disease clinician at Mbeya Referral Hospital in collaboration with the Walter Reed HIV/AIDS care and treatment program. In this role, he managed HIV/AIDS cases and provided ongoing clinical supervision and mentoring. Dr. Sanga also worked as a medical officer in charge of CODE clinicians, an HIV vaccine cohort study, for the Mbeya Medical Research Program of Munich University. In this role, he developed standard operating procedures, guidelines, other job aids for clinicians, and provided supervision and mentoring.
Dr. Sanga earned his medical doctorate from Muhimbili University College of Health Sciences at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He received training in comprehensive HIV/ AIDS care and treatment at Moi University College in Eldoret, Kenya.
