Joris Vandelanotte

Joris Vandelanotte, MD, FCPHM(SA), is senior clinical advisor for ICAP-Swaziland. In this role, he provides clinical and health systems support to the Partnership for Family HIV Programs, a collaboration between ICAP and Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

Joris has been working in public health and district health systems for more than 10 years, in a variety of settings: emergency relief with Medicins Sans Frontieres in Kenya and Srebrenica, and primary health care/district health systems in Chad and South Africa. He was instrumental in starting up antiretroviral therapy services in Limpopo Province in South Africa.

Joris is a specialist in public health medicine. He holds diplomas in occupational health medicine (University of Pretoria), epidemiology (CESAM, Paris), and tropical medicine (Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp). He also has interests in health systems development, information systems, and geographical information systems.
