Dr. Tshiwela Neluheni
Dr. Tshiwela Neluheni is the country director for ICAP-South Africa, providing overall management and programmatic direction for the implementation of the ICAP-South Africa programs.
Before joining ICAP, Dr. Neluheni was the country director of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) in South Africa. Prior to that, she was employed as an operations director for the Alexander Forbes Health Management Division where her role was to manage the day to day operations of the Direct AIDS Intervention Program (DAI). She also worked as a deputy director for the Reproductive Health HIV Research Unit and was responsible for the management of the national roll-out of a health system support program viz. National Adolescent Friendly Clinic Initiative (NAFCI) which was implemented in collaboration with the National Department of Health.
Dr. Neluheni holds bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery degrees from the University of Witwatersrand. She holds a postgraduate diploma in HIV/AIDS management and a masters in Philosophy (HIV/ AIDS) (Cum Laude) from the University of Stellenbosch. Additionally, she holds a postgraduate diploma in clinical evidence and health management (with distinction) from the University of Pretoria, School of Health Systems and Public Health.
