Landry Tsague

Dr. Landry Tsague, MD, MPH, is the HIV/AIDS clinical director for ICAP Rwanda. In this position, he provides overall clinical direction for ICAP-Rwanda HIV/AIDS programs, including supervising a multidisciplinary team of clinical mentors at district levels, designing and implementing effective systems to ensure high-quality HIV/AIDS prevention activities (prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) of HIV, voluntary counseling and testing (VCT)/provider-initiate testing, Prevention with Positives), and care and treatment programs at ICAP-supported sites. He also provides technical support to the Rwandan Ministry of Health (Treatment and Research AIDS Center and the Unité de Planification, Politiques et Renforcement des Capacités) in refining/developing HIV/AIDS national guidelines and tools and documentation of best practices.

Previously, Dr. Tsague served as senior PMTCT/VCT advisor for ICAP-Rwanda programs. Before joining ICAP, Dr. Tsague was the coordinator of the national PMTCT program for the Cameroonian Ministry of Public Health where he was instrumental in the design and successful scale-up of PMTCT services throughout the country. Dr. Tsague has received numerous awards for his contributions to the global PMTCT effort, including the International AIDS Society Young Investigator Award (2005), the New Investigator in Global Health Award (2006), and the Shepard Award for Scientific Merit (2007).

Dr. Tsague was trained as a physician in Cameroon and received a master’s of public health degree from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, where he was a Foege Fellow in Global Health.
