Beata Sangwayire
Beata Sangwayire is a pediatric HIV nursing care coordinator at ICAP-supported Central University Hospital of Kigali (CHUK). In this role, she supports HIV care for children hospitalized at CHUK. This includes strengthening screening for outpatient recruitment, monitoring of children with HIV, improving care and treatment children exposed to HIV, and maximizing linkages with other services. She also supports systems for distributing antiretroviral therapy, counselling for disclosure, home visits, and generating monthly and quarterly reports.
Before joining ICAP, she was a nurse in the pediatrics department at CHUK, serving as chief nurse in the neonatology unit for eight years.
Beata holds a bachelor’s degree in general nursing from Kigali Health Institute.
