Julius Kamwesiga
Julius Kamwesiga, MD, is an HIV clinical specialist for ICAP Rwanda. In this role, he oversees regional clinical activities, including clinical mentorship, managing complicated cases, and adherence-related issues.
Before joining ICAP, Dr. Kamwesiga was as a general doctor working in a HIV Clinic at the Treatment AIDS and Research Center. He also worked at ESTHER/INT project where he coordinated antiretroviral therapy programs and research, supervised data-keeping activities, and trained members of the psychosocial team.
Dr. Kamwesiga has conducted several research projects, including a baseline survey of children affected by HIV/AIDS living in Kigali, efficacy and efficiency of fever management in the Department of Internal Medicine at Central University Hospital of Kigali (CHUK), and HIV seroprevalance among street children in Kigali and Butare Provinces.
