Batya Elul

Batya Elul is deputy director of the Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Unit and assistant professor of clinical epidemiology at the Mailman School of Public Health.

Before joining Columbia University , Dr. Elul was a program associate at the Population Council in New York and New Delhi where she was responsible for clinical, social science and community-based research and evaluation on abortion and other reproductive health issues in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Much of that work focused on making reproductive health technologies more accessible to women and simpler to use in developing countries.

Dr. Elul holds an master's degree in population and international health from the Harvard School of Public Health and a doctorate degree in population and family health sciences from the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health.
