Mame Awa Toure
Mame Awa Toure, MD, MSc, is the deputy director of programs for ICAP-Nigeria, overseeing program planning and management.
Awa is a trained medical doctor with more than ten years of in-depth HIV/AIDS clinical care and research experience. She has capacity-building expertise in the field of HIV/AIDS care, support, and treatment/ART. As a senior regional technical officer for clinical care at Family Health International (FHI), Dr. Toure has provided technical assistance to national, governmental, and non-governmental organizations in Senegal and other parts of Africa. Awa also has contributed to resource development at FHI, including standard operating procedures and strategic documents for care and treatment.
Awa holds a master’s of science degree in epidemiology from Harvard University and a medical doctorate degree from Cheikh Anta Diop University in Senegal. She is fluent in French, English, and Wolof.
