Gerald Onwuegbuzie

Gerald Onwuegbuzie, MD, is a regional clinical advisor for ICAP-Nigeria’s adult antiretroviral therapy (ART) program in Kaduna State.

Before joining ICAP, Dr. Onwuegbuzie worked as a consultant physician and neurologist at the APIN Plus/Harvard PEPFAR, Jos University Teaching Hospital in Plateau State, where he coordinated management of drug toxicities, drug resistance, and ART management. Dr. Onwuegbuzie also coordinated neuroAIDS research. A published investigator, Dr. Onwuegbuzie received the Young Investigator Award at the 2007 Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections.

Dr. Onwuegbuzie holds a medical doctorate from Nigeria’s Ahmadu Bello University and is a fellow of the Medical College of Physicians.
