Pietro Di Mattei

Pietro Di Mattei, MD, DTM&H, is the site support advisor for ICAP-Mozambique. He is responsible for managing providing assistance to ICAP-supported HIV care and treatment facilities. Pietro works with the technical advisers in the various areas to ensure the implementation of policies at the field level.

Before working at ICAP, Pietro worked in several African countries in primary health care, including HIV and infectious disease control programs for non-governmental organizations and the World Health Organization. Pietro also worked as a physician at the infectious disease department in an Italian Hospital where he gained experience in HIV care.

Pietro obtained his degree in medicine and surgery at the State University of Milan (Universita’ Statale di Milano) and in tropical medicine and hygiene at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.
