Josué Lima

Josué Lima, MD, PhD, is country director for ICAP Mozambique and an associate research scientist at Columbia University.

Dr. Lima has wored in sexually transmitted diseases/HIV/AIDS for 20 years. Before joining ICAP, he worked as a local HIV/AIDS coordinator in Campinas City (São Paulo State, Brazil) and at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). He also worked as chief of the Diagnosis, Care and Treatment Unit at the Brazilian STD/HIV/AIDS Program (Ministry of Health) with a team that developed national policies and strategies. During this period, Dr. Lima participated in several international consultancies in Africa and Latin America.

Dr. Lima is a specialist in infectious diseases and holds master's and doctorate degrees in medicine. He was an HIV/AIDS Fellow at the Kobler Center and Westminster Hospital in London, sponsored by the British Council.
