Denise Arakaki-Sanchez

Denise Arakaki-Sanchez, MD, is a technical program manager and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) advisor for ICAP Mozambique.

Before joining ICAP, Denise worked at the Brazilian Ministry of Health, where she provided technical assistance to the care and treatment unit of the Brazilian STI/AIDS Program. In this role, she also collaborated in the development of the Brazilian National Guidelines related to HIV/AIDS, coordinated a genotyping national network, and participated in strategic planning. Denise also worked for the São Paulo State Government, implementing HIV/AIDS programs in the central western region of São Paulo State.

Denise holds speciality certifications in: infectious diseases from Universidade Estadual Paulista; public health administration from the University of Ribeirão Preto-SP; management of health facilities from Faculdade Armamndo Alvares Penteado; health economics from the University of São Paulo; and M&E from Oswaldo Cruz Foundation/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
