Alana Hairston

Alana Hairston, MSc, is a program coordinator for ICAP Lesotho.  In this role, she coordinates program planning and implementation activities and serves as an operational and administrative liaison. 

Before joining ICAP, Alana worked with DREAM/Santo Egidio, an Italian faith-based organization that provides antiretroviral therapy to persons living with HIV/AIDS in Maputo (Polano Caniço), Mozambique. In her role, Alana supported the DREAM project coordinator with medication and food distribution. Alana also worked for the International Foundation of Education and Self Help in Dalaba, Guinea, where she taught English and worked with young people on issues regarding HIV/AIDS, reproductive and sexual health, and gender.  In addition, she interned with Pact/Community REACH, The Futures Group International, and Family Health International/Youthnet in Washington, D.C. 

Alana holds a master’s degree in reproductive and sexual health research from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from American University in Washington, DC.
