Emily Koech

Emily Koech is the director of programs at ICAP Kenya.

Dr. Koech has extensive experience in HIV/AIDS clinical care program management. Before joining ICAP, she worked as a program officer and later as a national antiretroviral therapy (ART) program manager with the Kenya Ministry of Health in the National AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infection Control Program (NASCOP). In these roles, she was instrumental in the scale-up of ART programs in Kenya and the updating of Kenya’s national ART and opportunistic infection guidelines. She also was involved in the national roll out of ART data collection tools. Dr. Koech is also a physician and has experience in the care and treatment of people with HIV.

Dr. Koech holds a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery and a master’s degree in internal medicine from the University of Nairobi.
