Ellen Jorgensen

Ellen Jorgensen is the Director, Grants and Development at the International Center for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs (ICAP).

Ellen’s professional career has included extensive non-profit program development and management, administration and fundraising. Before joining ICAP, she served as Deputy Executive Director of the Women's Commission for Refugee Women and Children, an international research, public education and advocacy organization dedicated to promoting the rights of refugee and internally displaced women, children and adolescents.

Following the Peace Corps in Senegal, she joined Lutheran World Relief and became the Program Director for West Africa. On the domestic side, Ellen spent 8 years with the American Indian College Fund as Director of Individual Gifts. In 2005-6, she was the Team Leader for Save the Children’s Hurricane Katrina humanitarian response, which provided emergency day care, safe spaces, psychosocial and after school programs in MS, LA and AL.

Ellen received a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and a master’s degree in international affairs from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University.
