Anna Deryabina

Anna Deryabina, MD, MScIH is the regional project director for ICAP in Central Asia and is responsible for providing overall direction of the ICAP program to attain its strategic objectives within the Central Asia programs.

Before joining ICAP in January 2011, Dr. Deryabina worked at JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc., an international NGO that worked with key stakeholders involved in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan on improving stewardship of the National HIV Programs; developing and implementing models geared toward changing behavior and increasing knowledge so that risk of HIV transmission is reduced; improving quality of HIV/AIDS services; and improving resource use through the integration of HIV/AIDS services. At JSI, Dr. Deryabina held various positions from her initial position as Regional Monitoring and Evaluations Coordinator to her last position as Deputy Regional Director/Deputy Chief of Party. Dr. Deryabina has an extensive list of clients she has consulted for, including the American Red Cross in Central Asia, the International HIV/AIDS Alliance in Ukraine, UNICEF, UNFPA and the Central Asia AIDS Control Project, to name a few.   She also served as a Team Leader for the Local Fund Agent of the Global Fund in Kazakhstan.

Dr. Deryabina obtained her medical degree from the Kazakh National Medical University and a Master’s Degree in International Health at the Medical Faculty Charité, Humboldt University in Germany.
