JOB TITLE: Deputy Country Director for Finance and Administration

LOCATION: Abuja, Nigeria

OVERALL JOB FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of the Country Director of ICAP-Nigeria, manages  all finance and administration functions of ICAP Nigeria.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership, oversight and advice on all finance and administration matters
  • Works closely with the Country Director to develop and monitor budgets
  • Supervises the Deputy Director for Finance and the Associate Director for Human Resources and Administration
  • Ensures that all finance and administration tasks are done efficiently and promptly, and all reports are timely and accurate.
  • Manages and regularly reviews the finance and admin’ policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance to Columbia University/Funding agencies rules and regulations
  • Regularly reviews and updates internal controls to ensure that all ICAP assets are safeguarded.
  • In consultation with the Country Director and ICAP Finance, New York, provides funding agencies, other USG partners, with information on ICAP Nigeria’s finance and administration issues.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Country Director.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Masters degree in accounting, finance, economics or management
  • Prior experience as Director of Finance for an international NGO, preferably one funded by CDC or USAID
  • Excellent supervisory and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and function effectively at all levels of the organization
  • A high degree of energy, self motivation, and experience in a successful start-up environment
